MMAOddsBreaker.com can now officially confirm UFC Heavyweight Stipe Miocic has been forced out of his upcoming UFC Fight Night 76 bout against Ben Rothwell because of an unspecified training accident. Both top 10 fighters were scheduled to throw in the co-main event of next Saturday’s (October 24, 2015) event in Dublin, Ireland, that will be headlined by the lightweight battle between Joseph Duffy and Dustin Poirier and will be streamed live on UFC Fight Pass. Miocic (#3 rated HW) was coming off the very remarkable performance of his career, a fifth round TKO stoppage of former title challenger Mark Hunt where he set a UFC heavyweight record for the majority of strikes landed at a single struggle. He’s won four of the last five fights with his only loss being a decision against former winner Junior dos Santos. Rothwell (#7 rated HW) is currently riding a three-fight win streak which included surprising first round upset stoppage victories over both Matt Mitrione and Alistair Overeem. There’s been no word yet regarding when Rothwell is going to probably be forced off the fight card entirely or whether UFC matchmakers are going to be able to find a last minute replacement.
